Remember in the last post I said I will update you on my plans for Naomi's first birthday? Well, here are some short synapses throughout her birthday. I did a cake smash for her with the help of her God parents, who I mentioned before played their parts in getting a photographer (Yard Photography) and a cake of course to do her cake smash. A cake Smash is typically a new trend or way to celebrate the first birthday of a baby. You know that it is in a baby's DNA for curiosity, so they will automatically want to stick their hands into the cake. Therefore, it is called a cake smash where kids get real messy with their birthday cake on camera.
First of All, I had picked out the cutest outfits for her birthday. I decided on a black and white theme in honor of Dwayne's favorite colors. I loved the idea of having a tutu but I thought it looked too common and boring so I went ahead and added a leather jacket to spice it up a little. I was scared as hell because I travelled overseas with her a week before her birthday and all her outfits were left in Jamaica. Thank God we came back right before her birthday so we could get her outfits.
We decided to make Emancipation Park the place to take her pictures. Who knew you had to pay now a days to take pictures in the park, its crazy lol. Anyway, I really think that the atmosphere is better than Hope Gardens as it relates to scenery. I wanted to get a customized birthday cake themed with Skye from paw patrol or Abby from Sesame Street. However, I did not realized I had to make the order at least three weeks in advance. Long story short, I had to make my own design which came out pretty well on the Sugar and Spice cake. I had to give them specific instructions on how I wanted the cake in which the workers there
made it seemed impossible but that's a different story. Conveniently, it looked really good and cost five times less than what I would of paid. I also created a 3D number 1 which came out pretty nice as well for the first part of the photoshoot. I know I said I would not do a party but when we got home I decided to set the table and sing happy birthday and she responded pretty well to the excitement. lol Her Cake smash turned out to be fire
